The Metrology Laboratory (Lab) is the custodian of the official mass and volume standards for the State and provides nationally recognized calibration services to the legal weights and measures community including both the public and private sectors.

Lab calibrations are traceable to the national standards maintained by the United States Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The Lab maintains ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation through NIST recognition. Mass echelon III (medium accuracy) and volume echelon I (gravimetric) and II (volume transfer) calibrations are available.
