Metrology and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Events

The Division actively participates and supports STEM education. On July 7, 2015, Governor Hassan issued an Executive Order re-establishing the STEM Education Task Force. The task force represents an effort to supply more workers educated in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math for New Hampshire businesses. Many of these businesses are directly involved with weights and measures applications and/or metrology and there is a need for STEM trained workers.

The Division has participated at the following events:

  • Metrology Education Outreach, Seabrook Nuclear Power Station, Seabrook, NH (May 2015)

    • The event included a select group of special invite students, faculty, and metrology ambassadors.
  • Girls Technology Day, Concord and Manchester, NH (March 2015)

    • More about the event can be found in a special feature article in the Metrologist Worldwide News magazine, published by the National Conference of Standards Laboratories International.
  • Metrology Education Outreach, Great Bay Community College (GBCC), Rochester, NH (Dec. 2013)
    • The event included GBCC students, faculty, guest speakers, and Spaulding High School technology students.
