Nursery/Plant Dealer Licensing Program

The Division of Plant Industry participates in an interstate and international network of plant protection agencies whose goal is to reduce the transport of economically injurious plant pests by certifying the condition and quality of shipped nursery stock.

The Division licenses New Hampshire's Plant Dealers, and inspects nursery stock sold within New Hampshire, as well as that shipped both nationally and internationally.

Nurseries/Plant Dealers

Christmas Tree Growers

Shipments of Christmas trees and wreaths to other states are regulated plant shipments. The entire State of New Hampshire falls within the spongy moth (Lymantria dispar) quarantine area and Christmas trees shipped outside of the quarantine area will need to be inspected as free of all life stages of spongy moth. Please contact the Division to arrange inspection of your Christmas trees to be shipped outside the quarantine area.

Moving Houseplants

Houseplants moved between states fall under the same regulations as nursery stock. Please contact the Division of Plant Industry to arrange an inspection of your house plants before moving from New Hampshire.
