Division of Agricultural Development

The mission of the Division of Agricultural Development is to create market development opportunities that result in increased sales for agricultural producers, and as the department's public information office, inform the public of the value and diversity of the state's agricultural heritage and industry.

New Hampshire's Own logo

The Division of Agricultural Development works to inform the public of the value of the New Hampshire agricultural industry, including understanding the diversity of businesses and products and to encourage the purchase of local agricultural products. It also creates and promotes market development opportunities for New Hampshire agricultural producers. This is accomplished through various programs and activities, including tradeshows and other events, media and networking. The division works with trade organizations throughout the state and country to encourage economic development activities that benefit New Hampshire agricultural businesses. The Weekly Market Bulletin, the publication of record for the NH Department of Agriculture, Markets & Food, is published by the Division of Agricultural Development for the farm community. The division also operates the New Hampshire Building at the annual Eastern States Exposition and is a presenting sponsor of the NH Farm & Forest Exposition.

The Division of Agricultural Development has an active partnership with the NH Division of Travel & Tourism Development through which it engages in a multi-faceted advertising campaign. It also offers a variety of directories featuring farm, product and event information. These directories are available to New Hampshire producers to list their businesses and most are free for farm participants, or farms may be listed for a small fee. Many of our directories are in print form and all are online in downloadable .pdf format. These publications serve as the basis for other web information, such as offered by the state tourism website and our social media applications. Most web versions of our publications can be updated as needed to add new listings. Others are updated quarterly.
