For Service Technicians

The Division of Weights and Measures licenses, pursuant to RSA 438, service technicians authorized to test, calibrate and certify commercial devices including a variety of scales, analytical balances (e.g. a precision scale), retail motor fuel meters (e.g. gas pumps), vehicle tank meters, taxi meters, etc. Please see Agr 1404 (Registration of Service Technicians) and Agr 1405 (Service Technician Duties).

Service Technicians are required to complete and submit appropriate forms to the Division. They are required to use a "Placed in Service/Inspection Report Form" whenever they for hire, install, service, repair, recondition, test, seal, or calibrate a commercial weighing or measuring device. These forms can be ordered from the Division using the order form below. Payments can be accepted in check, money order, or cash.

Scale Exam

Questions on the scale exam have been derived from the material contained in Agr 1401, 1404, 1405, 1410.06, and familiarize yourself with RSA 438:40 Offenses and Penalties; Handbook 112, Handbook 130 and Handbook 44, General Code, User Requirements, Definitions, Tolerances, Notes, etc. You can download and/or print out this material from this website. The exam is open book.

Fuel Exam

Questions on the fuel exam have been derived from the material contained in Agr 1401, 1404, 1405, 1406.12, 1407, 1410.06, also, familiarize yourself with RSA 438:40 Offenses and Penalties; Handbook 112 and Handbook 44, General Code, User Requirements, Definitions, Tolerances, Notes, etc. You can download and/or print out this material from this website. The exam is open book.
